that you have been covering, led a strike in june. we spoke with a walmart worker from louisiana who participated. worked in the store 1102. we went on an unfair labor strike in early june. and we came back from our strike, we were both fired for going on strike. they told us, we missed a certain amount of days -- which were the days we went on strike. that was the reason for them firing us. actually against the law for them to fire us ribbeck we told them about it. at the time they said, they don't recognize our strike and that is why they were terminating -- terminating us. >> it is a union backed nonunion group for walmart. what he is describing is the greatest wave of retaliation against workers by walmart who are organizing that we have seen at least since 2005. there are 60 workers who went on strike last month who have been .isciplined in some way it represents a major threat. we have seen is workers attempted to defend workers who allegedly retaliated with more collective action. on friday night for the big strike wave starting this week, we saw workers at ominous walk worker

't they? lara? >>> we turn now to the alarming hostage situation overnight in a bank in louisiana. a 20-year-old man taking three people hostage tuesday afternoon, in a tense standoff with police that lasted well into the night. abc's pierre thomas is back with us now with the latest. good morning, pierre. >> reporter: good morning, lara. police were hoping to resolve this standoff peacefully. but it ended in a bloody spray of gunfire. shortly before midnight, police stormed the bank, after they say the gunman indicated he was going to kill two hostages. according to police, as they entered the building, the suspect, identified as 20-year-old fuaed abdo ahmed, shot the hostages, both bank employees. police killed the suspect, who they claim was armed with a handgun and a rifle. the confrontation began more than 12 hours earlier, when the gunman walked into the bank and began making bizarre demands. police say the suspect was a paranoid schizophrenic who claimed he had been hearing voices, including from a device planted in his head. authorities believe it was not a bank robbery but a pl
